SYNOPSIS: Binta is a seven-year old girl who lives in a small village on the Casamance river in southern Senegal. She goes to school. Her cousin Soda, does not have the same good fortune and is not allowed to learn about the things of the world.
Meanwhile, Binta's father (a humble fisherman) is concerned about the development of mankind and he is determined to carry out his great idea.
